Social Media Policy
Sojitz Tech-Innovation Co., Ltd. and our group companies (collectively the “Company”) manage the Group’s social media accounts stipulated below (“Official Social Media Accounts”) based on the following policy.
Before using our Official Social Media Accounts, please carefully read and accept these Terms of Use (these “Terms”). Please refrain from using Official Social Media Accounts if you cannot agree to these terms. We assume that by using our Official Social Media Accounts, you have agreed to all of the terms and conditions of use in these Terms.

1. The Company’s basic policy on the use of social media
The Company shall conduct promotions, communication activities, announcements and public relations activities, etc. using various social media platforms with the aim of building better relationships with Group’s stakeholders, such as customers and business partners, and social media users. The Company is fully aware of the influence that disseminating information via social media has and shall take this into consideration when using social media. Based on the understanding that information that has been made public via networks can be accessed by an unspecified large number of people, and that information that has been made public via networks can never be completely deleted, information transmitted shall be accurate, and content shall be handled with integrity to avoid causing misunderstandings.
In addition we shall comply with relevant laws and ordinances concerning basic human rights, privacy rights, copyrights, portrait rights, trademark rights, etc., and relevant regulations, such as the Group’s rules. We shall never disclose to the public any secrets we obtain in the course of our operations, nor transmit information that is disadvantageous to the Company or our stakeholders.
2. Disclaimers (to customers and social media users)
Please be aware that the information transmitted by the Company via the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts may include the personal views and feelings of the person in charge of managing the account, and such transmissions do not necessarily represent the Company’s official announcements or views. Please refer to the Company’s website and press releases, etc. for our official announcements and views.

The Company pays careful attention to the accuracy of the information transmitted on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. However, please be aware that we make no guarantees as to its suitability, completeness, accuracy, safety, legality, currentness or any other aspect and we may correct content at a later date. Furthermore, we accept no responsibility whatsoever for any trouble or damage arising from a user’s use or inability to use the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts, such as use of content disseminated via our Official Social Media Accounts or a website linked therefrom.
Users “reply,” “retweet” or otherwise “comment” on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts at their own responsibility. The Company accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any trouble or disputes between users or between a user and a third party that arise in connection with posts by users on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts or otherwise in connection to our Official Social Media Accounts.
The Company’s Official Social Media Accounts may be suspended or terminated, and the details/forms of their services may be changed without prior notice. In addition, the terms and conditions of these Terms of Use are subject to change without prior notice.
3. Deleting user posts
The Company values communication with users, and shall not delete users’ posts without due consideration. However, if a post includes content that is deemed inappropriate in light of the purpose of the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts (including but not limited to the following content), we may delete the posted information and content, block access to the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts, or take other necessary measures without any prior notice to the user.
- Content that is intended to cause or induce a crime;
- Content that infringes a copyright, trademark or other rights of the Company or a third party;
- Content pertaining to the privacy of a third party;
- Content that violates laws, regulations or public order and morals;
- Content that insults any specific individuals including the Company, corporations, countries or communities;
- Content that insults any product or service provided by the Company or a third party;
- Commercial content that introduces or advertises, etc. a user’s own product, store or company;
- Inappropriate content that contains obscene expressions, etc.;
- Content that causes or may cause any disadvantage or damage to the Company or a third party; or
- Any other content we deem inappropriate in light of the purpose of the Company’s official social media accounts.
In addition, the Company may delete posts made from the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. In such cases, please be aware that your comments and other posted content may be deleted from the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts depending on the social media specifications.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Users are prohibited from engaging in any of the following conduct when using the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. If a user has engaged in any of the prohibited conduct listed below, we may take necessary measures, including deleting postings and comments, blocking or deleting accounts or sending messages. In addition, if a user causes damage to the Company in breach of this paragraph, we may seek damages from such user.
- Impersonating any third party, including the Company;
- Political activities, political campaigning or religious activities;
- Posting or transmitting a harmful computer program, etc.;
- Reproducing, selling, publishing or otherwise using beyond the scope of private use any information obtained through the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts;
- Interfering with the operation of the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts, or acting in a way that causes, or may cause, a disadvantage to a third party, including the Company;
- Spamming;
- Obstructing other users’ use or access;
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Company’s networks through password mining, hacking or other means;
- Uploading or otherwise transmitting in any form, any content that a user does not have the authority to release according to laws or a fiduciary or contractual relationship; or
- Other acts deemed equivalent to the foregoing by the Company.
5. Copyrights, etc. relating to posts
Copyrights, etc. relating to posts belong to the user who made the post. However, users shall, by making such post, grant the Company a worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive right to use the posted content (including processing, extracting, reproducing, publishing or translating, etc.), and shall agree not to exercise any copyrights or moral right of author, etc. against the Company.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
All information, images and designs, etc. posted by the Company on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts are protected by copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights, and such rights are the property of the Company or third parties who license their use to the Company. Users of the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts shall comply with all laws and regulations concerning copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights when using the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts, and information, images and designs, etc. provided on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts may not be reproduced, diverted, offered for sale, or used in any other way, without the permission of the copyright holder.
7. Protection of Personal Information
The Company shall handle users’ personal information in accordance with our Personal Information Protection Policy, posted separately. Please carefully read and accept our Personal Information Protection Policy prior to using the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. 8. Performance Information, etc.
Plans and outlooks, etc. posted on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts concerning the Company’s performance that are not historical facts are based solely on the Company’s forecasts at the time the documents are disclosed. Consequently, actual performance may differ greatly from forecasts due to a number of factors including economic circumstances, and thus users should not rely on information posted on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. In addition, even when various factors that affect forecasts change, we do not always review future forecasts and do not always disclose such information on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts.
9. Governing Law and Court with Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall be the agreed court with exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for all disputes concerning the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts and these Terms.
10. Relationship with the Website Terms of Use
The Company’s Website Terms of Use shall apply to the extent that intellectual property rights, disclaimers, personal information, applicable law and jurisdiction are not in conflict with these Terms of Use.

Please be aware that, in principle, we do not respond to individual opinions or questions using the “reply” or “comment” features on the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts. Please use the Company’s website inquiries form to send inquiries to the Company.
